Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons affecting different parts of the island. For the west and south coasts, December to March is best. For the east coast, April/May to September is ideal.

The local currency is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). While credit cards are accepted in major hotels and restaurants, it's wise to carry cash for smaller shops, tuk-tuks, and local eateries.

When visiting temples and religious sites, ensure your shoulders and knees are covered. It's a sign of respect. Sri Lankans are incredibly friendly; a warm smile goes a long way!
